Sketchbook project page 1

Well, I started.

I am not sure I like what I started with, but I started.

I wanted to try monoprint, I wanted to try printing textures, so I thought I would give it a go… Of course it transpired that nothing worked out like I thought it would, and I have been layering prints up in the hope that I get something I am happy with.

I am not *that* happy with it at the moment, so I will probably add more to it, maybe in the form of superimposed words in the gaps…

However, harking back to the original art journalling purpose of this blog I thought I’d document my progress:

  1. If art was ‘easy’ then it wouldn’t be ‘art’.

My preference is for the monochromatic stage before you added the colour. I do like seeing the process as much as the final piece. It’s like watching an entire match as opposed to just hearing the result.

    1. You are absolutely right!

I agree about the monochrome stage in the pictures, it looked better photographed. In real life the feathery bits didn’t really stand out…
I am still not really sure what is going to be next, but I’ll figure it out 🙂
